Our Instructors are UCLA PEERS Certified

A cornerstone of our psychoeducation at ROWI is our certified UCLA PEERS® instructors. Did you know that we’re the largest instructors of the UCLA PEERS® curriculum outside UCLA?

PEERS®, or Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills, isn’t just for neurodivergent kids and teens; it benefits neurotypical kids and teens too. By teaching crucial social skills like making friends, handling disagreements, and initiating conversations, PEERS® equips children and teens of all backgrounds for success.

PEERS® 16-week curriculum was developed in 2004 at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Children and teens with social communication difficulties related to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, depression, or related challenges can benefit from this evidence-based social skills intervention, and research shows positive long-term outcomes for participants. Participants will learn social skills including developing and maintaining friendships, conversational skills, using humor appropriately, organizing get-togethers, handling disagreements and more.
