Anxiety Disorders in Teens

Anxiety disorders in teens can include these signs and symptoms:

  • Excessive worrying about everyday situations
  • Avoiding social situations or activities
  • Difficulty sleeping or staying asleep
  • Physical symptoms such as headaches, racing heart, stomach aches, or muscle tension
  • Restlessness
  • Ruminating thoughts
  • Trouble concentrating or focusing
  • Irritability
  • Panic attacks (sudden, intense feelings of fear or dread)

Each client receives an individualized treatment plan that will support them in meeting their goals. Programs are individualized in order to meet each client and family where they are at in the process.

The PHP program (M-F 8am-3:30pm) includes:

  • Individual therapy 2xs per week
  • Family therapy 1x per week
  • Psychiatry 1x per week
  • School hours 8am-10am daily
  • 5 hours of therapeutic groups daily

The IOP Program (M-Th 3:30pm-6:30pm) includes:

  • Individual therapy 1x per week
  • Family therapy bi-weekly
  • 3 hours of therapeutic groups daily

In addition, ROWI staff will work with your teen in real time when symptoms of anxiety are present. Coping skills include deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, TIPS skills, etc.  Contact us to learn more and to get support for your teen struggling with anxiety.
